Cervical Cancer Hysterectomy
A cervical cancer hysterectomy would be performed if the cancer was widespread and a vaginal wart or genital wart were present.
The operation decreases the risk of recurrencies in the future. You will be in hospital for about a week and recovering at home afterwards for at least another month or so. This is quite a big operation to make sure that all the cancerous tissues have gone.

If the patient has not have the menopause, it may be possible to leave the ovaries. During the procedure the womb, all the tissues, holding the womb, the top of the vagina, all the lymph nodes around the womb (and ovaries, if the patient is past the menopause) will be removed. A cervical cancer hysterectomy would be performed if the cancer was widespread and a vaginal wart or genital wart were present.
