Cervical Cancer In Pregnancy
Case management of cervical cancer in pregnancy ranges from a "wait and see" approach to treatment of cervical dysplasia using cryosurgery.
Fetus is not infected with HPV in the uterus, but it is common to transmit HPV at the time of delivery. However, serious effects of infants are rare. Infants, if exposed will usually clear the virus in several months after birth. A C-Section could be recommended in serious cases to prevent HPV transmission.
