Pap Smear Cervical Cancer
A positive pap smear, cervical cancer screening, can result from urethritis or urinary infection.
It may take years for atypical cells to turn into malignant tissues, which can quickly spread into other organs. In early stages there no evident symptoms. Then persistent vaginal discharge and abnormal bleeding may occur, weight loss, fatigue, back pain or bone fracture are possible. For treatment of severe cases, hysterectomy is performed.

The term refers to the disease described as flattening or “squamous” cells covering the cervix and developing atypical cells and tissues. The development of the disease is gradual; it often begins with infecting with HPV, which leads to dysplasia. This condition is treatable without surgical removal of the uterus. A positive pap smear, cervical cancer screening, can result from urethritis or urinary infection.
