Leep Loop
The leep loop procedure is usually done when a pap smear result is abnormal, possibly indicating cervical dysplasia.
The whole procedure takes about 20-30 minutes. It resembles a pelvic exam, since a patient lies on the exam table. Complications are rare after the procedure. They usually include some discomfort, pain, or bleeding. A patient should contact a physician if she experiences any of these side affects.

Leep Loop -
Pap Smear, Cervical Dysplasia
This procedure is used when the Pap smear of a patient indicates the presence of abnormal cells on the cervix. The presence of abnormal cells does not necessarily mean that the cells are developing into cervical cancer. This treatment is done to prevent them from developing. The leep loop procedure is usually done when a pap smear result is abnormal, possibly indicating cervical dysplasia.
